About The Position

The Lead System Engineering role involves defining designs and providing technical enablement for application components and subsystems. This position drives key design decisions for the development team, elaborates on designs and interfaces for specific components, and defines subsystems and their interfaces. The role includes allocating responsibilities to subsystems, understanding solution deployment, and communicating requirements for interactions with the solution context. The Lead System Engineer will align development teams to a shared technical direction, partner with teams in elaborating the Solution and its interfaces, and validate technology assumptions while evaluating implementation alternatives. This role establishes critical Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) at the solution level and participates in defining others. Responsibilities also include creating and enabling the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, participating in planning, definition, and high-level design of the system solution, and exploring alternatives. The Lead System Engineer will develop the Architectural Runway to support new business Features and Capabilities, and work with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers. Participation in project planning, system and solution demos, and retrospective workshops is expected. Additionally, the role requires understanding the technical characteristics of and assisting with the architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math
  • 5 years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in a related occupation
  • Utilizing Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Utilizing Python and C#
  • Utilizing Robot Framework
  • Utilizing AWS Batch, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Athena
  • Utilizing SQL Lite and Snowflake DB
  • Utilizing JupyterHub

Responsibilities

  • Define designs and provide technical enablement for application components and subsystems.
