The Lead System Engineer is responsible for translating business and technical requirements into scalable enterprise solutions by defining architecture across the vertical technology stack including application platforms, distributed services, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure through functional, performance, and reliability analysis. This role involves designing scalable system architectures and defining technical solutions for enterprise platforms supporting high-volume distributed applications. The Lead System Engineer will define and elaborate system architecture, component designs, subsystem interfaces, and integration models supporting enterprise platforms. They will align development teams to a shared technical direction and collaborate with engineering teams to implement scalable and resilient system solutions. The role requires designing and implementing enterprise applications and distributed microservices utilizing Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Spring Boot, and Docker, supporting scalable system architecture and containerized deployments. Development and integration of modern web-based user interfaces utilizing React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and JSON, supporting component-based frontend architectures and integration with backend APIs is also a key responsibility. The position involves designing and supporting data architectures utilizing Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL), and MySQL for transactional systems and Cassandra for distributed data platforms. Defining system interaction models, performance optimization strategies, and Non-Functional Requirements including scalability, availability, resiliency, and security are crucial. The Lead System Engineer will develop and deploy applications in cloud environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and support containerized deployments. Participation in system planning and architecture reviews, evaluating technology alternatives, and supporting the development of the Architectural Runway for new enterprise capabilities are expected. Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate Artificial Intelligence technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise applications to support intelligent automation, conversational interfaces, and enhanced developer productivity is a key aspect of the role. Enabling Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines, and collaborating with portfolio stakeholders, Solution Architects, and development teams to implement architectural enablers supporting enterprise platforms are also part of the responsibilities. The role involves developing full-stack applications integrating frontend and backend technologies, designing scalable application architectures including service decomposition, API-first integration models, and distributed system communication patterns. Defining system components, subsystem interfaces, and deployment architectures supporting enterprise-scale solutions is required. The Lead System Engineer will design and support high-availability, high-volume transactional systems, perform database schema design, query optimization, and data modeling. Deployment or support of applications in cloud computing environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is expected. Implementation of performance tuning, scalability optimization, and reliability improvements across application and data layers, and working in Agile or Scrum-based software development environments supporting iterative delivery and continuous integration practices are also key functions.
