About The Position

The Lead Surveillance Officer is responsible for creating work schedules, delegating assignments, and operating surveillance equipment with a high degree of skill. This role involves providing CCTV and personal observations of all departments to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Lead Surveillance Officer will work in liaison with department managers and state regulators on confidential matters, maintain attendance guidelines, and uphold personal integrity and leadership. Key duties include interviewing, training, and selecting employees, conducting performance reviews, making recommendations for wage increases and promotions, ensuring the safety and security of the casino and property, and handling employee complaints or grievances. The position also involves recommending and administering disciplinary actions, planning, supervising, and monitoring work, and ensuring legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws. The role requires a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with the possibility of overtime. Team members are expected to adhere to the Everyone Greets Everyone (EGE) policy, participate in mandatory meetings and pre-shift BUZZ sessions, and work effectively with co-workers. The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, respond to visual and aural cues, and maintain a professional appearance are essential. Compliance with attendance guidelines and all regulatory policies and procedures is mandatory. The role may involve performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years’ casino surveillance experience is required.
  • Must have a high degree of working knowledge of all casino operations.
  • Must possess excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have demonstrated ability and working knowledge of cheating detection methods.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Must be willing to work unscheduled shifts on short notice.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have basic computer operational skills.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Creates the work schedule for assigned shift and delegates assignments as needed.
  • Operates all surveillance equipment with a high degree of skill, including but not limited to monitors, switchers, computers, controllers and cameras.
  • Provides CCTV and personal observations of all departments and applicable job functions to assure compliance with established laws, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Works in liaison with applicable department managers and state regulators with regards to confidential matters.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Works with a high degree of personal integrity and leadership.
  • Interviews, trains and selects employees.

  • Must be able to see and also remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate the following equipment: Monitors, switches, computers, controllers, and cameras.
  • Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.
  • Must be able to change shifts on short notice.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Must be able to work in a low light environment.
