About The Position

Evergreen Recovery Centers is launching a new 90-day inpatient program for women with co-occurring disorders and mental health needs, starting in May 2026. This program, named "Rainwood," is designed for women facing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. It emphasizes a trauma-informed, recovery-centered, and strengths-based approach, providing a safe and structured environment for healing and empowerment. The program includes comprehensive clinical assessments, individualized treatment plans, and group therapy sessions, serving women of all backgrounds. The clinical model integrates evidence-based practices and holistic therapies, with additional experiential components like mindfulness training and recreational activities to enhance personal growth and resilience. The program focuses on connection, self-discovery, and lasting recovery.

Requirements

  • Current certification by Washington State Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional.
  • Bachelor’s degree in SUD studies or related human service.
  • Offer of employment is conditional upon review of Criminal Background Check and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. Evergreen Recovery Centers is a drug-free workplace.
  • No history of misuse of alcohol or other drugs for a minimum of two years prior to employment with Evergreen Recovery Centers.
  • TB screen is required at time of employment and annually thereafter.
  • CPR and First Aid training will be required in first month and annually thereafter.
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours, and availability to be reached by phone for consultation on evenings and weekends.
  • Experience applying American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement Criteria to treatment placement and continuing care.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with 12-step recovery practices and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Ability to deal assertively and effectively with patient conflicts and conduct verbal de-escalation intervention.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and setting a positive example of behaviors for patients.
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows, Word and Outlook, and able to keyboard approximately 2 hours a day.
  • Participate collaboratively and professionally in a team environment.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times with patients, visitors, other agency staff, and community agency representatives.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information in accordance with 42 CFR, 45 CFR, and related patient health care laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counseling, including SUD education, group process, and individual counseling, in a treatment milieu based on trauma informed care & 12-step philosophy while employing evidence-based practices.
  • Complete or review SUD assessments and individualized treatment planning at intake in accordance with ASAM.
  • Collaborate closely with mental health counselors, medical staff, and outside health care providers to create treatment plans that address ancillary or co-occurring mental disorders.
  • Maintain ongoing collaboration with CPS, DCYF, courts and all other relevant agencies during patient’s treatment as well as for purposes of discharge planning.
  • Record patient notes within 24 hours of contact and maintain files in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide family counseling and referral recommendations, as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely, complete communication and treatment progress reports as required by referents and resource agencies.
  • Work effectively with all residential treatment team members in planning and developing instructional strategies and programs appropriate to the total needs of the patients.
  • Identify and facilitate referral of patients having ancillary problems for professional consultation sessions.
  • Fill in for other residential clinical team during vacations and other absences.
  • Troubleshoot problems and respond to questions from counselors and trainees and gather clinical information as needed.
  • Cover groups, and other duties for other counselors as assigned by supervisor.
  • Cross train on residential specialist duties as assigned to be able to fill in when necessary.
  • Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
