About The Position

The Lead Student Engagement Programs Advisor (Assistant Director, Student Affairs) at USC Marshall School of Business, within Undergraduate Student Affairs, is responsible for shaping the Marshall student experience. This role involves developing programs, experiences, and communications to build community, celebrate students, and strengthen their connection to Marshall throughout their undergraduate journey. The position offers an opportunity to combine creativity, student engagement, and communications, with a focus on the Marshall Experience Program, developing signature experiences and managing the social media presence for Marshall Undergraduate Programs. The advisor will collaborate with students and colleagues across Marshall and USC, support broader student engagement initiatives, and bring new ideas to life.

Requirements

Master's degree or combined education and experience as a substitute for the minimum education requirement.
Three years of directly related professional experience in student engagement, student programs, higher education, communications, or a related area.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders while exercising diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion.
Proficiency with technology and communication tools used to support program management and student engagement.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Leadership, or a related field.
Five or more years of experience in student engagement, higher education, campus programming, communications, or a related field.
Demonstrated success planning and executing student programs, events, and engagement initiatives.
Experience managing organizational social media accounts and developing creative, multi-platform communications.
Excellent communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, and social media management tools.
A creative, collaborative, and student-centered approach with a passion for building community and enhancing the student experience.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, implementation, and assessment of the Marshall Experience Program, creating meaningful opportunities that foster student engagement, belonging, and school pride.
Develop and execute signature events, leadership initiatives, and co-curricular programs that enhance the undergraduate student experience.
Serve as the primary strategist and manager for Marshall Undergraduate Programs' social media channels, creating engaging content and communications that showcase student life and promote key initiatives.
Collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to develop innovative programs and strengthen the Marshall community.
Design and facilitate workshops, orientations, and educational programming that support student development and success.
Assess program effectiveness using participation data and student feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Support student engagement initiatives, including advising Marshall Recognized Student Organizations and student leaders as assigned.
Manage program budgets, event logistics, and related administrative responsibilities while ensuring effective stewardship of university resources.
