This role involves organizing cleaning chemicals and supplies, maintaining the supply rack with items like pots, pans, and utensils, and rotating stock by moving wares from storage to the kitchen. The Lead Steward will complete cleaning checklists to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing timelines, collect dirty pans from the cooking line, and transport them for cleaning. Responsibilities also include cleaning and maintaining sanitation areas, organizing cleaning supplies, cleaning the dish room (ceiling, walls, vents), and ensuring clean wares are stored appropriately. The position requires operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as the dishwashing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor. Additionally, the Lead Steward will assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model. This includes following all company and safety policies, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. The role requires maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, communicating clearly and professionally, developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Other reasonable duties may be requested by supervisors.
