Being a member of the ITP Delivery team, the Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is responsible for developing and executing test strategies, maintaining automated test suites, and performing functional and non-functional testing to ensure software quality and reliability. The SDET designs and improves test automation frameworks, analyzes defects, and collaborates with development teams to support efficient CI/CD processes. Working closely with Product Owners, developers, architects, and stakeholders, the SDET contributes throughout the software development lifecycle by defining test approaches, validating solutions, and supporting quality improvements. The role also helps ensure compliance with security and organizational standards while promoting test automation and quality best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience
• Hands On experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc. as well as CI/CD technologies (e.g. Cloudbees, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, Git, JUnit, Jira etc.).
• Extensive experience with testing modern scripting language-based components.
• Strong experience with automated testing and test-driven development
• Detailed understanding of smoke testing, black-box, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
• Expert and hands on with backend test automation using Rest Assured/Karate for API testing.
• JDBC/JPA for database testing (Oracle/ DB2/ Snowflake).
• Experience in Software Development
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, etc.)
• Knowledge of Databases and SQL preferred.
• Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries.
• Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute expertise in the application of different software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
• Contribute to the design of the automation framework and enhancement
• Maintain traceability from user stories through test cases to automated scripts
• Identify dependencies, define, and communicate environmental and data requirements
• Act as a technical expert on one or more applications utilized by DTCC
• Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with DTCC technology standards
• Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
• Partner with team members to understand software requirements and design automated tests that validate the functionality while considering privacy and security requirements
• Create applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional requirements
• Work with peers to mature ways of working to implement and maintain continuous testing within the software delivery processes and integrate automated test with CI/CD pipeline
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and improve overall software quality
• Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
