In addition to the assigned duties, which may include a unit or team assignment, the Lead Social Worker provides training, consultation and quality assurance activities. This position required an ability to engage in critical thinking and problem solving for complex cases, an understanding of regulations and policy impacting the service delivery of hospital services and an ability to train and educate staff.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Social Work required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in hospital Social Work and discharge planning.
  • Texas licensed Master Social Worker. (SW-MA); LCSW preferred.
  • Must have effective verbal/written communication skills and must have basic computer skills.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in the evaluation of patient needs.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills and organization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW preferred.
