About The Position

The Lead Social Services Worker serves as lead worker by supervising and participating in the provision of social service assistance to eligible clients, including food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance. The role interviews clients to determine need and eligibility, prepares accurate and complete client records, refers clients to community agencies, maintains effective working relationships with those agencies, and ensures compliance with program policies and procedures. The position is located at 3629 S. US Hwy. 1, Fort Pierce. It is full-time regular, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The salary range is $17.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of experience coordinating or managing work in an office environment, preferably in Social Services, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid Florida driver's license.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to operate and answer a telephone.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

Office coordination or management experience in the Social Services field.

Responsibilities

Supervise and participate in providing social service assistance to eligible clients.
Interview clients to determine their needs and eligibility for services.
Process client assistance requests and related paperwork.
Assist clients with Food Stamps, Medicaid, and ACCESS applications.
Prepare and maintain accurate client records and follow-up documentation.
Refer clients to community agencies and maintain effective working relationships with them.
Manage food pantry inventory and storage, ensuring compliance.
Coordinate Food Bank orders and monthly reporting.
Ensure compliance with program policies and procedures.
