About The Position

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership and program oversight to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements at the Entegris Reno site. This role champions the development, implementation, and management of programs and processes that promote a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. The EHS Lead provides guidance and technical expertise to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal standards and professional best practices. This position oversees site-wide EHS initiatives, including corporate program implementation, training, incident investigation, auditing, and performance evaluation. In addition, the EHS Lead plays a key role in fostering a proactive culture of EHS excellence by driving employee engagement and securing leadership alignment. This position champions sustainable, environmentally responsible operations and serves as a core member of the site’s EHS leadership structure, including emergency response and safety committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Science, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (7–10+ years preferred), with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience managing both safety and environmental compliance programs, including air, water, and hazardous waste regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, and applicable state requirements).
  • Experience supporting environmental permitting, reporting, and regulatory inspections strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous materials/chemical safety management.
  • Proven ability to lead incident investigations, identify root cause(s), and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and improving EHS programs in an operational environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels and build effective working relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical guidance.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to interpret regulations and apply sound, practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar are a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on EHS training and coaching to managers, supervisors, and employees to reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance.
  • Serve as the site’s EHS subject matter expert, overseeing day-to-day compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Support incident investigations and site inspections, assist in identifying root causes and risks, and drive timely corrective actions.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to identify hazards, address safety and environmental concerns, and reinforce safe behaviors.
  • Partner with engineering and operations on new projects and process changes to identify EHS risks, implement appropriate controls, and obtain required environmental permits. This would include participation in MOC, FMEA, PSSR, etc.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs, including air, water, and waste, along with required monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Support regulatory inspections and serve as the primary contact for agency inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Track and review EHS performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain any required corporate management system activities, including internal audits and ongoing improvements.
  • Build strong working relationships across the site to promote accountability, collaboration, and a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
