About The Position

Join the YMCA of the North Shore to lead our SHARKS Swim Team. You will oversee technical development and site culture for athletes ages 5–18, fostering excellence in and out of the pool. Build your coaching legacy in a high-performance environment.

Requirements

• Strong background in competitive swimming and proven leadership/supervisory skills.
• Deep knowledge of USA Swimming stroke mechanics and regulations.
• Must hold or obtain USA Swimming or YMCA coaching certifications.
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to motivate diverse age groups.
• Previous experience as a Competitive Swimmer and/or Coach.
• Demonstrable knowledge of swimmer development and stroke technique.
• Certifications from USA Swimming or YMCA Swimming are required as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute technical training regimens and endurance cycles.
• Build athlete confidence and resilience through YMCA core values.
• Serve as the primary liaison for families to ensure a cohesive site culture.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to monitor attendance and athlete progression data.
