About The Position

The After School Site Coordinator role at the Salem YMCA is a full-time, year-round position focused on youth development and leadership. The coordinator will lead a team to create a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for elementary-aged children in the After School Program. This role involves guiding daily program operations, coaching staff, and building relationships with families and school partners. The position also transitions into a leadership role for the Y Day Camp program during the summer. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about education, youth development, and leadership, offering a chance to build leadership skills and make a meaningful community impact.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) qualifications for a Site Coordinator
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience leading youth programs, activities, or groups
  • Demonstrated ability to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment for children and families
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must provide and maintain all documentation and certifications required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)
  • Must successfully complete all required trainings, certifications, and program orientation in accordance with EEC regulations and YMCA of the North Shore standards
  • Ability to uphold YMCA policies, procedures, and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
