About The Position

GA Telesis is hiring an experienced Lead Sheet Metal Technician for its Composite Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul unit at the MRO Composite facility in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This full-time position focuses on aircraft composite repairs. Reporting to the Director of Production, MRO, the technician will use their knowledge and experience to complete work in accordance with company quality standards, FAA requirements, and customers’ approved maintenance manuals. Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents will be considered.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least 3 years of experience in aviation component repairs.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Nice To Haves

• Technical or trade school certifications.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disassemble, and repair flight controls, structures, stabilizers, nacelles, exhaust, and other aircraft parts.
• Repair, modify, replace, or overhaul aircraft parts to ensure airworthiness.
• Perform work within estimated or budgeted hours.
• Use heat control units properly.
• Identify types of aircraft sealant and apply them using appropriate methods; identify aircraft fasteners, basic installation methods, and suitable substitutions.
• Fabricate parts as required and apply knowledge of metals and alloys, including where substitutes may be used.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
