About The Position

This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position in the Culinary Department. The Lead Dining Room Server is responsible for leading and supporting the dining room team during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional service for residents and guests. This role involves assigning tasks, coordinating seating, assisting with training, monitoring operations, and serving as a point person in the absence of the Dining Room Manager. The position requires adherence to Community standards for cleanliness, sanitation, organization, food quality, appearance, and presentation. The Lead Server will also manage meal counts, reservations, and charges using the POS system, monitor supplies, and address any equipment or maintenance concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of serving experience in a restaurant, country club, hotel, senior living community, or similar hospitality environment preferred.
  • Previous Lead Server or Trainer experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, and support team members.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • A history & physical exam, tuberculin skin test or chest X-ray, drug screen, criminal background screening, employment references from previous employers, and verification with the OIG list of excluded individuals/entities to confirm eligibility to work in health care is required.
  • This organization participates in E-Verify.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
  • Adhere to food quality, appearance, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain dining room appearance and presentation standards.
  • Lead and support the dining room team during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional service for residents and guests.
  • Assign server stations, side work, and daily work assignments to dining room staff.
  • Coordinate resident and guest seating for efficient and timely service.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring new and existing dining room team members.
  • Monitor dining room operations and ensure Community service standards are consistently met.
  • Serve as the point person in the absence of the Dining Room Manager, assisting with shift operations and problem resolution.
  • Maintain accurate meal counts, reservations, and additional charges using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Communicate dining room concerns, staffing needs, and resident requests to Dining Services leadership.
  • Monitor dining room supplies and report equipment or maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Set tables and maintain workstations in proper order.
  • Take orders, provide service, and fulfill requested items graciously and courteously.
  • Answer pertinent questions about menu items.
  • Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere.
