About The Position
Harpoon Brewery is seeking a Lead Server/Bartender to join their front-of-house team in Boston. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about craft beer, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences. The Lead Server/Bartender will support daily operations, coach teammates, and contribute to an energetic and welcoming atmosphere. The position requires a strong understanding of hospitality, teamwork, and craft beer culture.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- TIPS certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire
- 1–2 years of restaurant, bar, brewery, or hospitality experience required
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a high-volume environment
- Passion for hospitality, teamwork, and craft beer culture

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by welcoming guests, guiding them through offerings, taking orders, and delivering food and beverages.
- Make recommendations on beer styles, pairings, and seasonal offerings, and share the Harpoon story and brewery culture.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns professionally.
- Act as a shift lead, supporting smooth daily operations and assisting with opening and closing procedures.
- Train and mentor new team members, leading by example during busy periods.
- Support communication between FOH staff and management, and contribute to a strong team culture.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked service environment.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
- Assist with inventory awareness and operational readiness.
- Support private events and special activations.
- Assist with beer-to-go and merchandise sales.
- Stay knowledgeable about promotions, seasonal beers, and brewery events.
