About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers. The role involves leading the global CT through strategy development, reviewing global packages before leadership team review, compliance reviews, maintaining the sourcing pipeline, Business Over Time analysis, strategy presentations, and training global buyers. The position requires developing and executing a robust procurement strategy based on internal purchase requirements, market trends, and technology. It utilizes the Global Purchasing Supply Chain sourcing process for managing sourcing packages (RFQ, quote analysis, and award) and establishing a capable/competitive supply base. The role involves analyzing and applying tools like benchmarking, competitive sourcing, targeted sourcing, bundling, and supplier negotiations to drive the best total enterprise cost. Key responsibilities include negotiating commercial terms (price, duration, terms, and conditions), performing rate management activities (spot buys, rate analysis, supplier requests), participating in supplier KPI reviews, developing in-depth analysis on contract and overall business impact, and collaborating with GM Legal staff on terms and conditions. The position drives decision alignment with cross-functional disciplines (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Logistics Engineering/Planning/Operations), resolves commercial issues, drives continuous improvement, provides innovative ideas for process streamlining and savings opportunities, and improves supplier relationships through collaboration and tools like the Strategic Supplier Engagement program (SSE). The role requires staying updated on industry developments and trends, adhering to corporate policies, leading contract governance, compliance, and supplier performance, supporting projects assigned by management, and executing deliverables to meet the logistics organization's business objectives. The Lead Senior Sourcing Manager ensures business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas, identifies and modifies complex work methods without defined procedures, and promotes GM's values with customer-focused decisions. They are expected to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues and complaints.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)

Responsibilities

  • Leading the global CT through strategy development, reviewing global Packages before they are reviewed with the leadership team, Compliance reviews, maintaining sourcing pipeline, Business Over Time, strategy presentations, Training global Buyers, etc.

  • Drive decision alignment with cross-functional disciplines (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Logistics Engineering/Planning/Operations)
  • Resolve commercial issues, drive continuous improvement, provide innovative ideas to streamline processes and develop savings opportunities.
  • Improve supplier relationships through collaboration, mutual waste elimination and relationship building tools such as the Strategic Supplier Engagement program (SSE)
  • Keep abreast of current industry developments and trends in areas of expertise
  • Adhere to corporate, purchasing and accounting policies and procedures
  • Lead on-going contract governance, compliance and supplier performance
  • Support and lead additional required projects as assigned my management
  • Execute deliverables in support of the logistics organization's business objectives.
  • Ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.
  • Identify problems, update or modify work methods that may be complex in the work area without the benefit of defined procedures.
  • Promote GM's values and makes customer-focused decisions.
  • Remove Roadblocks & Resolving Issues/Complaints: Observe and step up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.
