About The Position

The Lead Security Systems Specialist is responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of security systems in a safe, reliable, economical, & environmentally sound manner. The Security Equipment Specialist owns an effective preventive, predictive, and corrective security maintenance program. This role carries out duties in a professional manner including the use of the Human Performance Tools, Safe Work Practices and Procedure Use & Adherence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical systems or construction, Maintenance, IT, or a related field with 8 years of security systems, safety practices, CCTV monitoring, access controls, IT, and regulatory compliance experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computer software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Adobe, etc.
  • 9+ years of experience with security systems, safety practices, CCTV monitoring, access controls, IT, and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

  • Performs efficient and effective maintenance and repairs of security systems in a safe, reliable, economical, and environmentally sound manner
  • Supports and evaluates effective corrective, preventive, and predictive security maintenance program
  • Coordinates system testing requirements, physical protecting projects and upgrades, and tracks system performance
  • Collaborates with management to develop security plans and procedures, security system testing and training materials, and various other written documents
  • Conducts oversight of access control equipment, CCTV equipment, vehicle barrier systems, and a sophisticated integrated security computer system to include field hardware
  • Leads benchmarking efforts and self-assessments on security programs and recommends solutions to management for identified problems
  • Oversees contractors and reports contractor compliance in accordance with contract terms while maintaining safety and technical procedure review qualifications
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for both small and large projects involving regulatory implications and physical security upgrades
  • Manages and provides oversight of the physical protection systems and establishes effective coordination with Information Technology (IT), Maintenance, Engineering, Security Maintenance, vendors, etc. to maintain systems in a desired state of operation
  • Partners with IT on existing and new security systems or software installation, updates, or functionality changes
  • Analyzes and evaluates security operations to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Deploys security related systems (e.g., CCTV cameras, access control panels, etc.) effectively and successfully
  • Ensures all security related systems and equipment (e.g., CCTV cameras, access control panels, network switches, etc.) are properly installed in adherence to security standards
  • Performs all duties in a professional manner while using and adhering to human performance tools, safe work practices, and procedures use
  • Manages and provides direction to contractors while ensuring security protocols and procedures are properly executed
  • Other duties, as assigned
