About The Position

Avicado is seeking a Lead Scheduler to drive coordination and execution of complex data center construction schedules in high-performance, client-facing environments. This is a leadership role rather than a P6 data-entry position, with approximately 25% business travel per month to job sites and client offices. The role involves creating and managing schedules across capital project phases, including design milestones, permitting, long-lead procurement, phased commissioning, and fast-track execution. The Lead Scheduler establishes and maintains baseline and integrated schedules, coordinates schedules from utilities, general contractors, developers, and specialty trades, and assesses schedule risks and potential impacts. The role works closely with design, cost, procurement, commissioning, and other project stakeholders to keep schedules realistic and aligned with project delivery needs. It also monitors critical and near-critical paths, updates schedules based on real-time progress and changing conditions, and recommends mitigation and recovery strategies. The position manages commissioning plans for mechanical, electrical, and IT system turnovers, including parallel commissioning strategies. It uses tools such as P6 and Forma and identifies opportunities to improve scheduling processes and systems. The Lead Scheduler also leads client Quarterly Business Reviews with client sponsors and Avicado executives. The role may lead, mentor, coach, and support a remote team of consultants, and may assist with hiring and developing talent. Avicado describes itself as a technology consultancy that helps construction owners use cloud-based tools and data, working with enterprise clients including data centers, universities, hospitals, and real estate developers. The company describes its work environment as remote, interactive, inclusive, and high-performance, with opportunities for career development and flexible work arrangements.
