About The Position
The Lead Safety Officer supervises the High School Safety Officers and, as needed, the Safety Officers assigned to elementary and middle schools. This is a 12-month position at Atlantic City High School, with a listed availability date of December 1, 2026.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Appropriate endorsement of all academy and training certifications, and any others that may be required by the Board.
- Demonstrated competence using a computer as a management tool.
- Excellent interpersonal skills when working with staff, students, and community members.
- Ability to communicate effectively and understand job instructions verbally and in written English.
- Required criminal history background check.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.
- Candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment must be tested for controlled dangerous substances as defined in N.J.S.A. 2C:35-2.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of five years of experience in Federal, State, or Municipal Law Enforcement.
- Five years of experience supervising Federal, State, or Municipal Law Enforcement personnel.
Responsibilities

- Supervise elementary and middle school Safety Officers as needed.
