About The Position

ArcelorMittal Calvert is seeking a Lead Roll Shop Operator to join their state-of-the-art steel processing facility. This role involves performing daily tasks within the Roll Shop, operating specialized equipment, evaluating roll and equipment conditions, and rebuilding complex assemblies. The position requires meeting quality and efficiency standards, setting up complex machine setups, inspecting finished rolls, and driving continuous improvement. The Lead Roll Shop Operator will also guide other operators and maintenance personnel, step up for the Team Manager as needed, and manage tasks and orders within SAP. A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, accountability, relationships, and sustainability is expected, along with a working knowledge of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and ISO 17025 standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of five years of experience in an industrial environment
Basic computer literacy
Mechanical experience

Nice To Haves

Machining and Millwright experience strongly preferred
CNC experience
Leadership Experience and/or capabilities
Strong quality awareness

Responsibilities

Perform Roll Shop Daily Tasks
Perform All Roll Shop Functions on Herkules WS 250, WS450, Chocker/Dechocker, and Automatic Roll Loading System along with auxiliary equipment
Evaluate Roll and Equipment Conditions
Rebuild Complex Bearing and Roll Assemblies with Precision and Accuracy
Meet/Exceed quality and efficiency standards
Set up and operator complex machine set ups
Inspect finished rolls for accuracy
Drive continuous improvement in efficiency and reduced costs
Guide Operators and Maintenance in Correct Pathways to accomplish Roll Shop tasks
Step up for Team Manager as needed
Drive Continuous Improvement in Efficiency and Reducing Costs
Schedule tasks and request work in SAP
Order materials and supplies in SAP
Build Crew schedules and approve time
