About The Position

This role is for a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Emergency & Specialty Care at Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre in Dartmouth, NS. The position offers a leadership growth opportunity, allowing the individual to lead, mentor, and make a significant impact in veterinary medicine. The center is a brand-new, 24,000 sq. ft. specialty hospital providing 24/7 Emergency Services, advanced diagnostics, surgical capabilities, and specialty services including exotics and rehabilitation. The role involves hands-on patient care, team mentorship, and collaboration with hospital leadership to improve workflows and patient outcomes in a fast-paced, supportive, and high-performing culture. Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with strong clinical skills
• A positive attitude, a motivating presence, and a strong commitment to supporting a healthy, collaborative team culture are required
• Passion for patient care, team development, and continuous learning
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and supportive in fast-paced environments

• Mentor and coach Veterinary Technicians to support growth, confidence, and strong performance
• Provide hands-on, high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment
• Partner with hospital leadership to improve workflows and patient outcomes
• Support team members during complex or high-stress cases
• Help build a positive, respectful, and high-performing hospital culture
• Contribute to training, scheduling, and continuous development initiatives
