About The Position

Copa Health is seeking a Full-Time Lead Registered Nurse who is compassionate to assist the Site Administrator, Clinical Director, Chief Psychiatrist and CMO/VPCS to ensure effective coordination and communication with the site nursing staff. This role involves assisting the Site Administrator with operational issues at the site that affect clinical nursing practices and communicating system initiatives to nurses and medical technicians. The Lead Registered Nurse will provide clinical supervision to all site nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and medical technicians, as well as contract staff.

Requirements

  • RN Diploma, AA or BSN preferred.
  • 3-5 years of work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years behavioral health nursing experience with a minimum of one year experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Required: Car, valid AZ Driver’s License, state minimum insurance coverage and ability to meet and maintain the company’s acceptable driving requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Carries a reduced caseload consistent with the number of clinicians supervised.
  • Responsible for performing the essential duties and responsibilities for a site nurse.
  • Records potential barriers to quality nursing care identified by the site nurses and collaborate with the Site Administrator, Clinical Director, Chief Psychiatrist and the CMO/VPCS in finding solutions to overcoming these barriers.
  • Clinically supervises all RNs, LPNs, medical technicians including contract RNs, LPNs and medical technicians working at their site. This includes participating in performance reviews (Lead Nurse will address clinical performance and Site Administrator will address administrative performance), being available for clinical consultation and support, participating in peer reviews and corrective action plans as required.
  • Provides direct oversight for all regulatory requirements associated with the campus laboratories, medication storage and disposal, and related medication services. This includes but is not limited to routine inspections, audits around documentation of assistance in the self-administration of medication, and overall compliance with regulatory standards in maintaining laboratories and medication storage areas.
  • Supports and participates in peer reviews, grand rounds, monitoring activities, and corrective action plans, performance improvement projects intended to address the delivery of quality nursing care and identified standards of practice.
