About The Position

Terros Health is seeking a Lead Registered Nurse for its 27th Avenue Health Center location in Phoenix, AZ. Terros Health is a healthcare company with over 50 years of experience providing primary care and specializing in mental health and substance use treatment. This role is for a full-time position, 40 hours per week, focusing on integrated care combining primary care and behavioral health in an outpatient/clinic setting.

Requirements

  • Registered nurse with the Arizona State Board of Nursing
  • One (1) year prior experience in a psychiatric setting and/or working with members receiving behavioral health services
  • Interpersonal skills for professional and positive relationships with co-workers, members, families, and community members
  • Good communication skills, evidenced by a non-judgmental approach, effective listening, and positive interactions
  • Strong understanding of substance use, addiction, and recovery principles
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, electronic medical record, NextGen preferred
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license, be 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health's driving policy
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for one within 7 working days of assuming the role

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an active member of the site management team, collaborating on site-based delivery of exceptional customer service and clinical care.
  • Assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring effective coordination, work processes, and clear communication with site providers and medical assistants (MAs).
  • Works collaboratively with site operational and clinical leaders to ensure an efficient workflow.
  • Communicates and coordinates changes in workflow or services to MAs and providers.
  • Ensures initial and ongoing competency for MAs and manages their training records, collaborating with other Lead RNs for implementation.
  • Ensures documentation of patient visits in accordance with policies, procedures, and clinical protocols on the same date of service.
  • Manages the medication system at the site, ensuring appropriate administration and documentation of medication treatment.
  • Educates MAs and other team members on psychiatric and medical conditions and medication side effects.
  • Serves as the point person for site MA staff regarding clinical operational matters within their scope of work.
  • Communicates potential barriers to quality care and collaborates with the Director of Nursing to find solutions.
  • Clinically and administratively supervises all employed and contract MAs at their site, including interviewing, orientation, discipline, collaborative action plans, performance reviews, and providing clinical consultation and support.
  • Supports and participates in huddles, medical staff, and other site and agency meetings.
