About The Position

The Lead Quality Technician is responsible for performing testing and supporting data analysis for the assembly and deburr departments. This position requires a champion of documentation who is responsible for clearly communicating results and direction to team members. This position works closely with Engineering, Production, and other manufacturing personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of experience of quality control in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with dimensional inspection equipment and tools required; CMM experience preferred.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, routers, and work instructions.
  • Experience reviewing customer purchase orders, contracts, and quality requirements preferred.
  • Hands-on experience developing manufacturing processes and proven ability to evaluate data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and track quality information.
  • Ability to manage administrative tasks while working effectively in a production environment.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Teams, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • CMM experience preferred.
  • Experience reviewing customer purchase orders, contracts, and quality requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strive toward a culture of proactive safety.
  • Manage RMAs, approval, issuing, receiving, tracking, disposition, and replacement.
  • Interact with customer service reps/sales/customers for RMA coordination.
  • Investigate customer complaints and support root cause and corrective activities as needed.
  • Review customer purchase orders, contracts, and related quality requirements.
  • Support Quality Engineering with quality investigations, corrective actions, work instructions, SOPs, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support MRB activities and dispositions of nonconforming material.
  • Monitor ECN implementation on the production floor, ensuring applicable contract, customer, and quality requirements are understood and followed.
  • Serve as Quality resource for assembly and deburr, addressing quality issues and questions as needed.
  • Support Incoming and Final Inspection personnel by providing technical guidance, training, and mentoring.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, routers, and work instructions to support inspection and quality requirements
  • Train operators and inspectors on the use of measuring devices and the completion of inspection documentation.
  • Record, summarize, and report quality data and trends as required.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation in accordance with the Company Quality Management System.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
  • Other duties as assigned.
