About The Position

The QC Lead is responsible for real-time quality decisions on the production floor, verification of team training and competency, and the day-to-day guidance of QC Technicians. The QC Lead ensures compliance with established Food Safety and Quality standards. The Lead consistently supports and reinforces Enfield Farms’ company values and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • 2 Year Manufacturing or Laboratory Experience or a degree in related field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead respectfully and fairly; prior experience mentoring or coaching coworkers in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred with professional proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Must be competent in all relevant Work Instructions and Specifications within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Upholds customer quality specifications and addresses non-conformances immediately
  • Monitors and ensures that Good Manufacturing Practices for self and others are strictly enforced and corrects/reports non-conformances immediately
  • Ensures company procedures are followed to mitigate food safety risks and promptly notifies Quality leadership when deviations are observed.
  • Clearly and concisely communicates with supervisors, managers, line operators and production employees when product is not meeting standards
  • Responsible for documenting and communicating holds
  • Verifies QC Tech training and competency through proficiency audits and observations
  • Conducts ongoing verification and retraining as needed following deviations, complaints, or process changes
  • Communicates verification results to QC Supervisor/Manager
  • Verifies that all quality checks are recorded accurately and addresses discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Holds the team accountable for maintaining a clean, organized workstation
  • May be required to fill in for the QC Technician role during an absence and provides coverage for lunches and breaks as needed
  • Provide assistance in whatever capacity to QC Techs as needed
  • Understands and upholds the SQF Management System
  • Verifies accuracy and preparation of micros and COCs and stages samples for pick up by a 3rd party lab for testing.
  • Conducts monthly QC Lab supply/chemical inventory checks
  • Weekly environmental monitoring
  • Assists with monthly audit inspections
  • Updates work instructions
  • Attends and participates in all annual, departmental, and job-specific required training
  • Conducts daily GMP audits in all facilities.
  • Assists with projects assigned by QC Management
  • Addresses team conflicts or concerns fairly and professionally, escalating personnel matters to QC Supervisor/Manager as appropriate.
  • Proven ability to make sound, independent quality decisions and communicate professionally with the team
