About The Position

This hourly role is responsible for ensuring overall compliance with quality, safety, and operational policies and procedures. The Lead Production will foster strong relationships between production, maintenance, and sanitation personnel to maintain a clean and safe working environment. This position involves maintaining key performance indicators, assisting in continuous improvement activities, coordinating cross-training, preparing raw materials, maintaining inventory, completing daily reports, and conducting paperwork audits. The Lead Production is expected to create a sense of ownership within the team for cleanliness and achieving production targets, working closely with operators to identify and correct equipment and process deficiencies. This role includes leading direct reports through training, work assignments, and performance management, and may require acting as the sole leadership on shift. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong safety and quality background.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite abilities to complete reports and logs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of SAP.
  • Requires frequent periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing.
  • May occasionally lift, push, pull and carry minimal weights.
  • Exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust – must wear hearing protection, safety shoes, hair/beard net, uniform.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct.
  • Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear, when on the plant floor v. office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall compliance with quality, safety, operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective written and oral communication within the Production Team and with support departments.
  • Establish and foster strong relationships between production and maintenance/sanitation personnel.
  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPI) and assist/lead in continuous improvement activities.
  • Support and assist with coordinating all cross-training activities.
  • Confirm/Prepare raw materials in advance of production dates, report shorts/issues, and maintain daily tank inventory.
  • Complete daily reports (attendance, Co-ordinate rework staging, SAP documentation, WMS consumption).
  • Perform regular paperwork audits (quality, cleaning, production) and report deficiencies.
  • Create a sense of ownership within the production team for clean production areas and assist with the 5S program.
  • Assist Operators/Supervisor to meet production targets and schedules, and report out missed targets.
  • Work closely with production operators to ensure equipment deficiencies are identified/corrected and assist with work orders.
  • Work closely with production operators to ensure process deficiencies are identified, recorded, and solutions are implemented.
  • Ensure all activities are properly documented and reported to the supervisor.
  • Lead direct reports in training, work assignments, and performance issues.
  • Provide regular report outs to the Supervisor, including recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Assist Supervisor with documenting standard work instructions.
