About The Position

The Lead Hand Production Associate is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machines and participates in ensuring the utmost quality of product. This role involves packing manufactured products, monitoring quality, and adhering to operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must be able to differentiate between colors and their shades

Responsibilities

  • Packing a variety of manufactured products (lids and containers) accurately and efficiently
  • Ensuring that close attention is paid to the quality of the products that are coming off the machines – putting aside defective products and communicating to Shift Supervisor
  • Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS)
  • Checking the quality of product (lids/containers) every stack top and bottom (flip stack prior to bagging) - look for short shots, warping, black spots, witness marks, long gates, etc.
  • Applying appropriate colored bag to the stack and pack and tape the bag closed
  • Placing bagged product into the appropriate bin as indicated by the bin placard
  • Notifying supervisor immediately when any quality issues are discovered
  • Counting and documenting the number of plastic sleeves of products that are packed during each shift
  • Ensuring that all parts are removed from the machine, table and over top of the conveyor before starting a new order
  • Placing the new placard onto new bin
  • Ensuring any scrap parts are placed into the scrap bin – weigh and record as required
  • Printing boxes
  • Printing labels from Dynamics program
  • Sweeping floor and ensuring that any spills (oil, water, resin, parts) are cleaned up in a timely manner
  • Notifying supervisor immediately of any hazards, incidents or accidents
  • Maintaining a clean workstation(s) at all time
  • Printing boxes when needed for production
  • Covering breaks
  • Gemba walk with Production Supervisor, safety walk
  • Auditing production bins for correct quantity, labels and no mixing
  • Auditing all employees for GMP, PPE, and work areas are clean
  • Auditing cleaning carts are filled out and in order
  • Printing labels for production
  • Allocating associates if machines are down for extended time
  • Reporting any down machines or quality issues to the Supervisor
  • Verifying all paperwork and logs are up to date
  • Coordinating with Material Handlers to have products staged at machines for packing
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by your supervisor
