About The Position

Numeric is seeking a Lead Product Marketing Manager, the first senior product marketing hire, to own the core product narrative and set the standard for the function. This role involves acting as a chief narrative creator, a quality setter, and a player-coach who balances hands-on execution with strategic impact. As Numeric grows, this individual will manage messaging for upcoming product releases, scale a team of Product Marketing Managers (PMMs), and define the future of product marketing in the age of AI. The position is described as highly impactful, emphasizing the critical role of product marketing in a fast-paced environment with rapidly evolving AI technologies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in product marketing.
  • Experience operating as the sole PMM or leading the function, defining strategy rather than just executing.
  • Exceptional storytelling ability, capable of building high-level narratives and communicating complex ideas with precision and concision.
  • Proven ability to differentiate products and shape clear stories in competitive markets.
  • Experience marketing a technical B2B product.
  • Strong editing and coaching skills that elevate the quality of those around you.
  • Empathy for sellers, acting as a true partner to sales representatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in both early-stage (Series A/Seed) and scaled (Series C+) startup environments.
  • Background in accounting, finance, or fintech.
  • Strong copywriting background.

Responsibilities

  • Own the core positioning and primary narrative for Numeric's broader product story.
  • Deeply understand the technical product and complex market to develop resonant messaging across personas and companies.
  • Set the quality bar for product marketing through world-class editing, feedback, and coaching, leading by example with strong deliverables.
  • Build and own the product marketing roadmap, defining necessary work, ownership, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Establish working rhythms to connect marketing with sales, partnerships, and product, identifying collateral gaps and strengthening positioning throughout the funnel.
  • Hire and grow the product marketing team, defining required talent profiles and conducting rigorous evaluations.
  • Develop a clear point of view on the future of product marketing amidst AI advancements and ensure Numeric remains at the forefront of the discipline.
