Lead Principal Platform Software Engineer

Oracle•United States,
•$113,600 - $306,400

About The Position

Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s AI team to build and operate cloud platforms and services that power AI workloads at scale. In this IC5 individual-contributor role, you will own complex technical initiatives from architecture and implementation through production operations, translating ambiguous customer and business needs into secure, reliable, and efficient solutions. You will apply deep distributed-systems expertise and hands-on software development to guide technical decisions across teams and mentor engineers. You will help improve execution across the software development lifecycle, serve as a subject-matter expert for new software features and enhancements, ensure accessibility, and create documentation that clarifies software. Your work will shape shared platform capabilities, improve service performance and operational excellence, and deliver measurable customer impact. Oracle takes an AI-forward approach to engineering. You will use AI throughout the software development lifecycle and help teams adopt effective AI-assisted workflows for design, coding, testing, review, debugging, and operations. You will pair these capabilities with rigorous validation, sound engineering judgment, and accountability for production outcomes. The role also sets group-wide guardrails for platform interoperability, security controls, and client-library governance; owns cross-group programs such as identity, configuration, and API gateway standards; establishes shared observability frameworks and rollout policies; and manages deprecation risk. The U.S. hiring range is $113,600–$306,400 per annum. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package, including insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick leave, paid parental leave, adoption assistance, and other benefits. The role generally accepts applications for at least three calendar days from the posting date or while the job remains posted.
