About The Position

StarChild Academy is hiring a Lead Preschool Teacher to help create a positive learning environment for students. The teacher develops and implements age-appropriate curriculum, plans engaging activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development, and assesses and documents students’ progress. The role also involves helping lead learning activities, ensuring children’s safety and well-being, monitoring their development, and fostering a harmonious environment for children and fellow teachers. StarChild Academy is part of Endeavor Schools, an education management company with more than 100 schools in 14 states. This position requires Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida law; candidates may need to complete screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
45 DCF hours.
Two to five years of prior experience working in a certified child development center.
Prior experience with the assigned age group.
Meet specific requirements set by minimum state standards and/or accreditation.
Ability to use standard office equipment such as a laptop computer and smartphone.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with parents and other staff members.
Patience, collaboration, creativity, and passion for early childhood education.
Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida law.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Early Childhood Development.
CDA certification.
