About The Position
This position is for a Lead Preschool Teacher for the GSRP program. The role involves providing excellent daily care, initiating ideas and activities, and collaborating with a team of educators. The teacher will also support and engage parents and families.
Requirements
- A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or PK-3 endorsement; or A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching.
- The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education.
- Must be familiar with Early Childhood Standards and Benchmarks
- Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting
- Experience working with early elementary age children in a preschool setting
- Experience working with emergent curriculum approaches
- Comfortable supporting and engaging parents and families
- Skilled in communication, both written and verbal
- Must be flexible and willing to help out where needed
- Ability to practice a team approach.
