About The Position

The Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher for the GSRP program. This position involves providing excellent daily care, initiating ideas and activities, and collaborating with a team of educators. The role requires supporting and engaging parents and families, and working under the direct supervision of the Preschool Director.

Requirements

• A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or PK-3 endorsement; or A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education.
• Familiarity with Early Childhood Standards and Benchmarks
• Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting
• Experience working with early elementary age children in a preschool setting
• Experience working with emergent curriculum approaches
• Skilled in communication, both written and verbal
• Must be flexible and willing to help out where needed
