About The Position

The Lead Preschool Plus Teacher provides leadership, direction, and supervision to children ages 3–5 during large- and small-group activities. The role also supports staff management, including time and attendance and substitute coverage, and is responsible for maintaining a clean classroom and other areas used for classroom activities. The teacher applies educational curriculum in the classroom and fosters positive relationships with children and families through respectful, age-appropriate discipline and open communication.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Hold current CPR and First Aid certifications.
Demonstrate a cooperative spirit and commitment to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to staff, lay leaders, YMCA members, program participants, and the community.
Ability to lead a classroom and staff.
Knowledge of licensing requirements and regulations.
Skill in organizing and executing age-appropriate activities for children.
Meet at least one of the following education requirements: current Early Childhood Professional credential level III version 2.0 as determined by the Colorado Department of Education; Child Development Associate (CDA); bachelor's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or special education; or Colorado Director Qualified.

Responsibilities
