About The Position

The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline performs evaluations for piping systems in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.7, and other codes as applicable to the specific evaluation being performed. The Piping Engineering & Analysis discipline also performs evaluations for vibration monitoring and analysis, hydraulic transients, thermal stratification effects, operability, hydrodynamic loads, pipe rupture, pipe wall thinning, and pipe flaw evaluations. This role provides senior level technical direction and supervision to the project team members in his/her discipline. Establishes project task schedules and budgets for his/her discipline to meet overall project requirements. Coordinates activities between disciplines. Is responsible for successful completion of project deliverables to meet all technical, quality, and project controls expectations. Serves as a technical liaison with the client and a lead technical resource on projects. Lead engineers support engineering design projects by reviewing complex calculations and approving simple calculations, providing technical guidance, and ensuring calculations are technically sound. They review and approve simple system/structural designs and prepare and review complex system/structural designs. They perform engineering review of drawings, review design input for complex system/structures, define client expectations for drawings, and coordinate interface between design and engineering. They actively participate in design reviews and prepare and review major system, installation, and material specifications. They define technical and commercial requirements, prepare bid evaluations for complex systems and installation scopes, participate in bid negotiations, and may evaluate change orders. They prepare and review single-discipline, complex reports/studies, participate in the preparation of multi-discipline reports, and review studies and reports to ensure technical soundness, cost-effectiveness, and clear communication.
