Lead Person- Shipping
About The Position
The Lead Person – Shipping coordinates logistics and leads the shipping department in meeting daily customer demands by fulfilling orders on time and providing outstanding service on shipping options. The role helps determine work procedures and schedules, expedites workflow, and operates independently with minimal supervision. Project management responsibilities include warehouse space utilization, freight cost optimization, trailer utilization, and coordination with drivers and vendors. The position communicates with warehouse personnel about order readiness and works with customer service, sales, production, and accounting as needed. The role also supports process improvement and housekeeping, operates wrapping equipment when necessary, and performs other assigned duties. The position is based at the plant at 8313 Triad Dr, Greensboro, NC 27409, and the stated hours are noon to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. Daily and/or weekend overtime may be required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a shipping environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, process improvement, and housekeeping.
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed, including daily and/or weekend overtime.
- Ability to sit, stoop, and bend.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations, around machinery and heavy forklift traffic.
- Advanced computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a packaging warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in all facets of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and system administration.
Responsibilities

- Communicate with warehouse personnel regarding order readiness.
- Work with staff in customer service, sales, production, and accounting as required.
- Support process improvement and housekeeping.
- Operate wrapping equipment when necessary.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
