About The Position

Home Instead is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Corporate Accounting/Finance team in Green Bay, WI. This role is responsible for supporting multi-state payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. This position plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with our Care Professionals and internal teams, while supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role also offers the opportunity to become a key resource for UKG Pro administration, helping support system enhancements, train managers and employees, and improve payroll and HR processes across the organization. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of payroll experience required
  • Experience with multi-state payroll tax requirements preferred
  • Working knowledge of federal and state labor laws preferred
  • Experience supporting employees with payroll-related questions is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • UKG experience preferred
  • WellSky experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Ability to interpret and apply payroll regulations across multiple jurisdictions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with employees and partners
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer service orientation

Responsibilities

  • Process new hires and employee changes across multiple locations and jurisdictions
  • Review payroll records to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations
  • Apply knowledge of multi-state payroll tax requirements, including withholding and reporting
  • Process wage garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and process corrections as needed
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments by reviewing claims and resolving issues
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
  • Training managers and employees on payroll and HR processes
  • Overall organizational UKG administration
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
