About The Position

Grace Life Bible Church in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a Lead Pastor to serve as its primary spiritual shepherd, teacher, and leader. Working alongside the elder board, staff, and ministry leaders, the pastor will provide biblical teaching, pastoral care, and organizational leadership while equipping the congregation to grow in faith and serve others. The role will build on the church’s foundation of biblical teaching, discipleship, and meaningful relationships, honoring its history while bringing fresh vision and leadership. The pastor will provide spiritual direction, oversee staff and ministry leadership, and equip the congregation for ministry. The church seeks someone who can balance excellent biblical teaching with genuine pastoral care and guide its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate is a gifted, Christ-centered expositional communicator; a compassionate and relational shepherd; a visionary and collaborative leader; and a committed disciple-maker. The candidate should align with the church’s doctrinal convictions, including the authority of Scripture, Free Grace theology, and eternal security, and desire to invest in the church and Omaha community for the long term.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary preacher and teacher, delivering biblically faithful, Christ-centered, primarily expositional sermons.
Develop and oversee the church’s preaching and teaching direction in alignment with its doctrinal convictions.
Equip believers to understand, apply, and live out God’s Word.
Provide spiritual direction while championing the church’s mission, vision, and values.
Foster a culture of discipleship, evangelism, prayer, and spiritual growth.
Identify ministry opportunities and guide strategic planning efforts.
Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and encouragement to the congregation.
Build meaningful relationships with members and demonstrate a genuine heart for people.
Oversee pastoral care efforts in partnership with elders, staff, and ministry leaders.
Lead, mentor, and equip church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
Identify and develop future leaders within the congregation.
Encourage members to discover and use their spiritual gifts in ministry.
Work collaboratively with the elder board in providing leadership and direction for the church.
Oversee church staff, providing accountability, encouragement, and support.
Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and ministry evaluation.
Represent Grace Life Bible Church within the Omaha community.
Encourage outreach, evangelism, and local and global missions.
Build relationships with community leaders, ministry partners, and mission organizations.
