About The Position

Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The Lead Painter is responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of hotel buildings and various facilities throughout the property. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through relevant work experience. Under general supervision, the Lead Painter will directly and indirectly support General and Contributing Maintenance Technicians by applying established principles and practices of facilities operations, maintenance techniques, and skilled building maintenance. This role will assist with routine tasks and projects related to the ongoing maintenance and operation of the property.

Requirements

  • Three+ years of professional painting experience (luxury hospitality preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation and high-end finishing techniques
  • Ability to produce precise, clean, and consistent work
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training, trade school certification, or coursework in painting, construction, or a related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance practices, building material, and safety procedures preferred
  • Hospitality, hotel, resort, or luxury property experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting, staining, and finishing
  • Repair drywall, patch holes, fill cracks, sand surfaces, and perform surface preparation
  • Apply paints, stains, and protective coatings to interior and exterior surfaces
  • Match colors and finishes to maintain Southall’s design standards
  • Perform detailed touch-ups and repairs with minimal disruption to guests
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with maintenance and leadership on ongoing projects
  • Properly maintain tools, material, and inventory
  • Assist the Engineering team with general maintenance projects as needed
  • Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and the equipment necessary to perform assigned duties
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional service when interacting with guests and fellow team members
