About The Position

The Lead Operator Third Shift is responsible for performing job duties to achieve production goals, including operating and monitoring injection molding machines. This role involves assisting in training operators, communicating shift changes, ensuring operators have necessary materials, and monitoring work and quality. The Lead Operator also performs physical counts, moves production, enters scrap data, and ensures job completion and documentation. A key aspect of this role is working effectively as a team member, maintaining leadership, and ensuring safety in a fast-paced environment. Overtime may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
1-3 years in plastic injection molding
Basic written, oral and math skills
Computer literate
Good organizational skills

Responsibilities

Perform job duties to achieve production goals, including operating and monitoring injection molding machines.
Assist in training operators in orientation, quality systems, and production requirements, including paperwork and reports.
Communicate shift cross-over with incoming and outgoing personnel, reviewing notes, issues, and concerns.
Make boxes and ensure operators have necessary materials and supplies for production.
Train and monitor work and quality in molding areas; assist with break/lunch relief and operators with packaging.
Perform one physical count per shift on all running jobs, evaluate discrepancies, notify Supervisor, and adjust computer reports.
Move production from running jobs as necessary and document quantity on Product Transfer form.
Enter scrap from operator labor tickets into the computer system at least twice per shift and at the end of the shift.
Follow through on all jobs, including ensuring completion, assisting with count verification, data entry, process documentation, and returning files to QA.
Work well as a team member with co-workers, interact well with peers, support company initiatives, and maintain leadership and confidentiality.
Multi-task and work successfully in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to safety.
Work overtime and outside normal working hours to accommodate production needs when required.
Perform related duties as directed.
