About The Position

The EVS Lead - Third Shift is responsible for leading co-workers in the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services department (EVS) program. This role involves planning job assignments, verifying task completion, assisting with scheduling, and adjusting daily schedules to ensure proper staffing. The lead also functions as an Environmental Services Tech, understanding all departmental positions and responsibilities. Key functions include managing hazardous materials, spills, and disaster plans, assisting with competencies, monitoring bed tracking and breaks, acting as a liaison, coordinating projects, assisting with room inspections, issuing equipment, and making suggestions for work improvement. The role also involves overseeing supply and equipment use and maintenance, training new staff, and communicating associate performance to leadership. A strong commitment to customer satisfaction, maintaining a courteous attitude, and utilizing appropriate communication and conflict resolution skills are essential. The EVS Lead also plays a role in training associates and the department orientation process, maintaining appropriate licenses and certifications, and fulfilling operating unit requirements.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Confers, plans ahead with supervisory staff, on job assignments, projects and activities.
  • Verifies completion of all assigned duties/tasks by Environmental Services staff according to EVS procedures.
  • Assists in scheduling of the Environmental Services staff.
  • Adjusts the daily schedule to ensure proper staffing in all areas.
  • Functions as Environmental Services Tech, knowing all positions/responsibilities within department.
  • Role in Hazardous Materials, spills and disaster plans.
  • Assists in competencies.
  • Monitor Bed Tracking.
  • Monitors lunch and breaks.
  • Liaison between EVS and customers/staff as needed.
  • Coordinate projects/set ups.
  • Assist with room inspection high touch, etc.
  • Issues key, pagers, equipment, etc.
  • Makes suggestions for work improvement.
  • Assists in training and introducing new equipment and cleaning methods by demonstrating techniques and procedures.
  • Inspects equipment and supplies for cleanliness and possible damage, to ensure that it is in working for the next shift use and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Communicate to leadership associate performance, conduct, issues, etc.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to satisfying customer needs and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Continues to improve patient and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Maintains courteous and pleasant attitude to patients, families and other contacts.
  • Utilizes appropriate chain of command in resolving complaints, grievances.

  • Utilizes AIDET with both Internal Customers and External Customers.

  • Trains associates and assists in Department Orientation Process.
