About The Position

This position assists the administrative services office of the Winnetka campus. There is considerable contact with staff, students and parents. This employee works within established guidelines, exercising strict confidentiality, initiative and independent judgment in performing duties and in keeping informed of procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Capacity to project a positive image of the district to parents, students, staff and outside vendors, as well as exhibit a positive employee attitude.
  • Knowledge of current office practices and procedures, computers, and additional office equipment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with various software applications such as PowerSchool and GoogleSheets.
  • Ability to keyboard accurately.
  • Knowledge of photocopying and mail machinery, and other equipment.
  • Some mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods, and move around frequently in the office area and other areas of the building.
  • Physical ability to stand at and move around operating equipment, lift and carry stacks of completed copy work (up to 25 pounds), and sort and distribute mail in the mailroom.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and distinctly with staff, students, parents, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to administrative staff by: coordinating work of other staff in Attendance Office, switchboard, duplicating and mailroom; creating daily bulletin; inputting Attendance Office data on a daily basis; providing general clerical duties such as answering telephone inquiries, opening and sorting mail, and substituting in other support positions as needed to replace absent staff; addressing students’ needs at the attendance counter, such as student I.D. cards; learning names, locations and functions of personnel served in order to direct inquiries appropriately; placing emergency calls as needed; assisting in resolving scheduling conflicts for the following school year; and assisting in the approval of student residency during registration processes.
  • Provides services to the mailroom and duplicating center by: sorting and distributing mail; making photocopies on office equipment; and ordering supplies and equipment for office.
  • Supports functions of records office as needed.
  • Records and monitors field trip approvals and attendance.
  • Coordinate student locker requests and locker usage.
  • Continues job performance enhancement by participating in professional growth activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
