About The Position

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead MRI Technologist to join their team. They aim to challenge the status quo by highlighting radiology as a critical first step in diagnosis and treatment. The Lead MRI Technologist will be responsible for the leadership and management of assigned MRI technologists, operating an MRI scanner to produce diagnostic images, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires self-motivation to continuously increase understanding and knowledge in the modality field, diseases, and evolving procedures. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with shifts from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist, current and in good standing, depending on State regulations and business need
  • Five (5) years' MRI imaging experience
  • One (1) year experience mentoring and servicing as a resource, including identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before exams for precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers.
  • Explain and prepare patients for MRI procedures, positioning them appropriately for scanning.
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision, providing patient support.
  • Adjust MRI scan parameters correctly.
  • Follow physicians' orders, conform to safety regulations, and maintain patient records in the RIS.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and team members.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean work area, including sanitized equipment, and promote good safety habits.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting it after each use.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise.
  • Support and enhance the team by acting as a resource for new and long-term team members.
  • Assist in the hiring process for new team members.
  • Coordinate the training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Schedule and lead regular team meetings and one-on-one meetings.
  • Monitor and approve timecards.
  • Initiate and participate in performance reviews, development, and performance management of team members.
  • Develop team member schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and coverage.
  • Evaluate workflow and implement process improvements for the team.
  • Ensure team has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures.
  • Support team members to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Lead special projects and/or committees as assigned.
