About The Position

The Lead Mitigation Technician position is a career in the property damage restoration industry, primarily responsible for leading a crew of technicians who respond to emergency and property damaging situations. The Mitigation Leader has a drive to lead. The Lead Mitigation Technician and team address the property and the customer with skill, knowledge, and professionalism, and our goal is to preserve as much of the property as possible while working safely and efficiently on the job site. All Lead Technician candidates must demonstrate leadership capabilities and possess working knowledge of the software and technology platforms utilized in mitigation operations. This includes RMS, DASH, Mitigate, or comparable platforms such as Dry Book and Encircle, as well as sketching and documentation tools such as Matterport and DocuSketch. In addition to technical proficiency, Lead Technicians must be able to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with insurance adjusters, TPA program representatives, customers, subcontractors, and fellow team members. Tier 1 – $23.00/hour Emerging leader with restoration industry experience. Required Certifications: WRT (Water Restoration Technician), AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) Foundational proficiency in mitigation software and documentation tools. Capable of leading smaller projects and crews under management guidance. Strong communication and customer service skills. Tier 2 – $25.00/hour Proven leader with strong mitigation experience. Required Certifications: WRT (Water Restoration Technician), AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician), ASD (Applied Structural Drying) Proficient in project management, moisture mapping, documentation software, and client communications. Capable of independently managing crews, job sites, and project documentation. Demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills. Tier 3 – $27.00/hour Senior restoration professional with extensive mitigation experience. Required Certifications: WRT (Water Restoration Technician), AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician), ASD (Applied Structural Drying), One or more advanced IICRC certifications (CDS, FSRT, OCT, TCST, or equivalent). Expert-level proficiency in mitigation software, digital documentation systems, and project oversight. Demonstrated success managing complex losses and mentoring technicians. Capable of leading large-loss and complex mitigation projects with minimal oversight.

Maintain a level of confidentiality
High School Diploma or GED required
Customer Service experience
1 plus year experience in a craft, trade, or manual labor position or equivalent schooling

Associate or Bachelor Degree
One or more years’ experience within the restoration industry

Responsibilities

Work safely in residential and commercial properties that have been damaged by fire, water, storm, and/or mold
Recruit and coach technicians both in the field and in the warehouse
Survey damage within the property
Evaluate and record damage to all items within the property
Manage cleaning process for both contents and structural damage
Demolition of structural damage to properties through the use of hand and power tools
Clean up assigned job sites after demolition
Perform initial site visits
Conduct moisture inspections
Set restoration equipment within guidelines
Complete notes of assigned jobs in our primary operating system (RMS)
Contact the customer of assigned jobs with ETA
Take photos of jobs assigned at start, completion, and throughout the process
Responsible for maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment
Responsible for unloading and reloading assigned vehicles with equipment
Keep equipment clean and organized in the shop
Responsible for unloading trash in assigned area
Responsible for recording your time and coding it to the job assigned
Pass IICRC certifications as IICRC classes are offered
Assist in the development of new hires through on the job training
All other duties as assigned
