About The Position

We are an established, physician-led outpatient vein and aesthetic practice in South Jersey seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to oversee and manage our clinical team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will direct daily operations, manage a team of 6 Medical Assistants, and maintain an active role in patient care within a fast-paced procedural environment. This position is best suited for someone who has already led a team, understands accountability, and is ready to take ownership of clinical operations and performance. This role offers a Monday-Friday schedule (no nights, weekends, or holidays), leadership autonomy with real operational responsibility, hands-on clinical involvement, and the opportunity to help support the growth of aesthetic services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Medical Assistant experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Strong organizational and operational skills
  • Ability to manage staff and enforce accountability
  • Experience in a procedural or specialty practice preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain efficient patient flow across 2 physicians and 1 nurse practitioner
  • Room patients, obtain vitals, and assist with procedures
  • Ensure consistency in clinical protocols and workflow
  • Direct daily activities of 6 Medical Assistants
  • Create schedules, manage coverage, and address call-outs
  • Maintain accountability and performance standards across the team
  • Interview, hire, and onboard new Medical Assistants
  • Conduct 90-day and annual performance reviews
  • Manage disciplinary actions and terminations when necessary
  • Train new hires on clinical skills and workflow expectations
  • Establish and maintain standardized operating procedures
  • Continuously improve team performance and efficiency
  • Oversee ordering of medical and procedural supplies
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Work with vendors to ensure cost efficiency
