About The Position
Under the supervision, direction, and guidance of the licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN, the lead medical assistant assists in coordinating the care provided in the Urgent Care. Supports the Urgent Care Manager in the oversight of the urgent care staff.
Requirements
- Graduate of a medical assistant program.
- Two years experience in medical office setting.
- Knowledge of triage categories, types of radiology and laboratory orders, medication administration protocols.
- Ability to obtain vital signs and assist with splinting.
- Strong communication skills.
- Understands medical terminology, medication rotation, and electronic record keeping.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card.
Responsibilities
- Assists in coordinating the care provided in the Urgent Care.
- Supports the Urgent Care Manager in the oversight of the urgent care staff.
- Obtain vital signs.
- Assist with splinting.
- Supervise and manage up to 15 employees.
