About The Position

This lead-level engineering position offers challenging opportunities in Mechanical Engineering and the potential for career advancement. The role leads mechanical design engineering efforts on multidisciplinary project teams and applies mechanical engineering expertise to the design and analysis of special-purpose equipment, pressure vessels, and interfacing systems, controls, and structural support elements. The position has a hybrid arrangement, combining work from home and in the office. The engineer prepares and reviews complex calculations, mechanical systems and equipment designs, equipment specifications, and reports and studies. They prepare documented design input for drawing production, including P&IDs, machine layouts, and general arrangements, and communicate with vendors through clear, complete specifications. The role also develops budgets, schedules, and work plans for single-discipline or simple-scope projects, monitors work against budget and schedule, interfaces directly with customers in project meetings, and mentors junior engineers. Applicants must be U.S. citizens; dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify. The successful candidate must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. Sargent & Lundy describes a comprehensive benefits package and notes that eligible positions may include participation in a yearly discretionary bonus.
