About The Position

Transit Team, Inc. is seeking a Lead Mechanic to join their team. This role involves performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on light and medium-duty paratransit vehicles. The Lead Mechanic will also lead daily shop operations by prioritizing work orders and coordinating workflow, providing guidance and support to mechanics and technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Requirements

4+ years of fleet, Ford, or GM mechanical experience
Valid MN Driver's License
DOT Medical Certificate (can be obtained after offer is given)
Be able to work independently and on a team
Strong communication and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
ASE certification(s)
Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
Ability to delegate, coach, and support team members

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on light and medium-duty paratransit vehicles
Lead daily shop operations by prioritizing work orders and coordinating workflow
Provide guidance, coaching, and support to mechanics and technicians
Ensure compliance with DOT, FTA, FMCSA and company safety standards
Assist with training and onboarding of new technicians
Monitor vehicle downtime, quality of repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules
Partner with leadership to improve processes, efficiency, and fleet reliability
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
