The Lead Mechanic/Equipment Operator Labor (LM/EOL) is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles used in toll operations and emergency response. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to DOT regulations, including mandatory drug and alcohol testing in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40. The LM/EOL diagnoses the nature of malfunctions of various types of automobiles, vans, light duty trucks, heavy equipment and other related equipment. Employee determines the type and extent of repair necessary and performs work as required. Employee reports directly and is accountable to the Roadway Supervisors. Equipment Operator Laborer Duties are performed a=on an as need basis and/or when no mechanical work is needed to be performed.
