About The Position

Centuri is hiring a Gas Utility Laborer to work in utility and energy infrastructure. The position offers 1–4 weeks of paid training and hands-on, on-the-job instruction while working under an experienced Foreman alongside Equipment Operators and Pipe Fitters. The role provides an opportunity to develop specialized skills in excavating, trenching, shoring, and other aspects of the gas utility trade. After as little as six months, employees may qualify for additional paid training to advance their careers. A valid driver's license is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong desire to learn a new trade.
• Fluency in English, as worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English.
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable-suspicion drug screens.
• Provide valid U.S. work authorization documents for E-Verify.
• Satisfactory pre-employment background check results.
• Complete a pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test and hold or obtain a DOT medical card.
• Join and maintain Union membership.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures and prevent damage.
• Load and unload equipment and materials.
• Keep the worksite clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain all industry-required Operator Qualifications.
• Perform other tasks as requested by leadership.
