About The Position

Centuri is hiring a Gas Utility Laborer to work in the field on utility and energy infrastructure projects. The role includes 1–4 weeks of paid training, hands-on experience, and on-the-job instruction under an experienced Foreman while working alongside Equipment Operators and Pipe fitters. The work can provide opportunities to develop specialized skills in excavating, trenching, shoring, and other areas. After as little as six months, employees may qualify for additional paid training to advance their careers.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and a strong desire to learn a new trade. Candidates must be fluent in English, meet pre-employment screening and medical requirements, provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify, and join and maintain Union membership. A clean driving record is preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong desire to learn a new trade.
• Fluency in English, as worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English.
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
• Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
• Satisfactory results on a pre-employment background check.
• Pass a pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test and hold or obtain a DOT medical card.
• Join and maintain Union membership.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damage.
• Load and unload equipment and materials.
• Keep the worksite clean and organized and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain all industry-required Operator Qualifications.
• Perform other tasks as requested by leadership.
